What do you know about PE Liners inside fibc super sacks

PE Liners inside fibc super sacks have good durability and transparency. Sometimes,  the woven PP bag is not enough to provide perfect protection for the goods, especially small pellets and powder products. Therefore, these jumbo bags need an extra layer of PE liner inside to better preserve the product. In this article, EPP Vietnam will share some information you need to know about PE film.

What are PE Liners inside fibc super sacks?

Currently, PE has become the most important type of plastic material. The different PE resins have several important properties that make them the most suitable packaging material. PE has very good resistance to water and moisture and is even better with a higher density.

PE also has very good heat sealing properties and retains flexibility at very low densities; it can be used in cryogenic conditions of –50oC (–58oC). As temperature changes, its viscosity also changes evenly, so it is easy to handle and transform. There is no disadvantage associated with PE because it produces only CO2 and water when being burned.

Features of PE Liners inside fibc super sack

PE liner has the value of low moisture permeability. Because of its high crystallinity, the softening temperature is about 150oC, therefore, it is used as packaging for food.

On the other hand, due to PP's low density (0.90 g/m3) and high tensile strength, it is possible to produce thinner films making it competitive with PE films in some special applications. It can also be used in place of cellophane. PP has a tendency to become brittle at low temperatures, which can be overcome to some extent, by copolymerization with small amounts of ethylene.

PP is widely used as a thin, relatively rigid film with the same applicability as cellophane due to its transparency. Oriented PP (OPP) film, stretched in 1 or 2 directions, has better strength and stiffness. OPP film has sufficient stiffness, moisture and odor barrier properties, and transparency to be manufactured with a wide range of packaging. However, PP film is very difficult to heat seal which can be overcome by double extrusion with PE.

Advantages of PE Liners inside fibc super sacks

Standard jumbo bags will still have the risk of leaking powdered products. In particular, it is impossible to completely prevent goods from being exposed to moisture from the outside environment. That's why many EPP customers choose to use an extra Poly liner to protect their products absolutely.

FIBC liners usually come in two forms: tubular liner or form-fit liner. In addition to protecting goods, liners have a greater advantage that helps the loading and unloading process take place quickly and conveniently. The main reason is that the surface of PE is very smooth, therefore, powdered or granular goods easily flow and discharge out of the bags.
